At the Hornsund meteorological site snow water equivalent has been measured at the same points by the Station\342\200\231s overwintering crew since October 1982. Snow Water Equivalent is measured every 5 days with VS-43 snow tube. There are no measurements taken if snow depth is less than 5 cm.
